The Challenge:

Like many fast-growing companies, Banco Davivienda faced the challenge of upskilling its workforce to meet the demands of a challenging market. To stay competitive, attract top talent, and drive innovation, they needed to develop their team’s analytical and digital skills.

The Solution:

To equip key roles—including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Development Engineers—for the future of finance, Banco Davivienda launched a bold initiative: UXplora Corporate University. For over five years, UXplora has gone beyond traditional training. It’s a comprehensive learning ecosystem dedicated to:

  • Identifying and understanding the learning needs of its workforce
  • Developing essential skills to tackle emerging challenges and drive the bank’s transformation
  • Facilitating the migration of their financial services toward Open Banking

By partnering with Coursera, Banco Davivienda built tailored learning pathways in critical areas such as business, computer science, and data science. This collaboration enabled them to provide access to practical, industry-relevant courses and valuable Professional Certificates, enhancing employee competencies in vital domains while allowing them to earn globally recognized credentials.

Business Impact:

Since launching in 2020, UXplora Corporate University has empowered 1,482 employees with targeted learning. This commitment to upskilling is reflected in the impressive 4,623 Coursera course enrollments with a completion rate exceeding 70%. This preparedness has positioned Banco Davivienda to lead in the transition to Open Banking, offering more interoperable and competitive financial services.

This investment in employee development has yielded significant results:

  • 53 employees achieved expert-level GCP certification using Coursera content

  • 782 active participants engaged in specialized programs

  • 639 graduates transitioned into key data roles

  • 143 employees trained in data lake migration through the GCP program

Through the digital badge system, UXplora not only recognizes the skills of its graduates—including over 500 graduates and 56% of analytical leaders certified in leadership tracks—but also motivates them to embrace continuous learning. These efforts have fortified their internal talent pool, driven innovation, and optimized processes, solidifying Banco Davivienda’s position as a leader in the financial sector.
